Venice, Italy

AthensComprised of over 120 islands in the Adriatic Sea, Venice is one of the world’s most unusual (and most beautiful) cities. A romantic gondola ride is one of the best ways to see the city, where canals replace streets, and where residents still use water taxis to navigate the city. Don’t miss St. Mark’s Basilica, the center of the city, and one of the world’s best known examples of Byzantine architecture, a still-impressive relic from the days when Venice was the world’s leading maritime power.

17 August Dubrovnik, Croatia 11 AM 7 PM

Dubrovnik, Croatia

AthensA perfectly preserved medieval town, Dubrovnik has been resting on the Dalmation Coast for over 1300 years. Its marble-paved squares, monasteries and fountains are just a few of the antiquities still standing just as they were over a thousand years ago, helping the city earn its place on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites. Easy to explore on foot, you’ll be transported to the breathtaking medieval world of Stari Grad just beyond the Old Town’s stone walls.

Corfu, Greece

Tel AvivOne of Greece's most popular islands, Corfu is known as "the green island" because of its 3 million olive trees and flower-strewn countryside. With a history punctuated by battles and conquests, Corfu’s is known for her old town, a labyrinth of narrow streets sandwiched between two fortresses.

20 August Istanbul, Turkey 7 AM overnight

Istanbul, Turkey

Tel AvivThe cultural and financial center of Turkey, Istanbul is the only city in the world that spans two continents. These days, there are more happening restaurants, bars, galleries and clubs around town than there are exquisite Ottoman mosques, although Istanbul’s history and exotic culture are present everywhere. It's easy to spend an entire day strolling through the Grand Bazaar, exploring the famous Blue Mosque, or wandering through the majestic Topkapi Palace, with its gardens, libraries and 400-room harem.

23 August Santorini, Greece 10 AM 9 PM

Santorini, Greece

SantoriniThis island's capital of Thira is a maze of whitewashed buildings and narrow cobblestone streets atop a cliff hundreds of feet above the island's main port, where yachts and cruise ships anchor. Small, family-owned vineyards dot the center of the island. And for a romantic moment, head to the tiny town of Oia and watch the sky turn a dozen shades of pink and orange as the sun slowly drops over the horizon.

24 August Athens, Greece 9 AM

Athens, Greece

AthensThe Greek capital is one of the world’s oldest cities, with a recorded history spanning back some 3500 years. Reminders of Athens’ influence on the development of the Western world are at every corner, the most famous being the Parthenon and the Acropolis, among countless other Roman and Byzantine monuments. Visiting Athens is also a great lesson in the development of modern urban life, from the creation of the basic unit of city planning, the city block, to the expansion of the Athens metro system to accommodate the 2004 Summer Olympics.
