Atlantis to Set Sail in August on Europe’s Largest All-Gay Cruise WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., April 12, 2005 – Atlantis Events, Inc., the world’s largest tour operator specializing in all-gay vacations, confirmed today that its late summer sailing on Royal Caribbean’s new Brilliance of the Seas will be the largest all-gay cruise ever to sail Europe. Atlantis charters entire cruise ships and all-inclusive resorts for the exclusive use of its guests on all its vacation packages around the world. With a capacity of 2,080 guests, Atlantis’ Brilliance of the Seas sailing will be the largest gay cruise ever offered in Europe. The nine-night adventure departs Barcelona on August 31, 2005, and sails to Nice, Rome (Civitavecchia), Mykonos, Crete and Naples, before returning to Barcelona on September 9. “We are pleased to be able to respond to strong customer demand for our European cruises by offering two Mediterranean cruises in 2005, including our largest ever all-gay Europe cruise, on Royal Caribbean’s beautiful Brilliance of the Seas,” said Rich Campbell, chief executive officer of Atlantis. “A ship of this size and caliber gives our guests unparalleled options for on-board activities, dining, entertainment and relaxation.” Atlantis redesigns the cruise experience exclusively for its gay and lesbian guests, featuring the best in gay and lesbian entertainment, custom production shows and well-known guest stars. On each cruise, three or four leading DJs preside over a series of parties and other events, while a team of 30-plus Atlantis hosts helps bring the experience to life. Brilliance of the Seas, a 91,000 gross-ton vessel with 13 decks, is one of the newest large cruise ships sailing in Europe today. Brilliance belongs to Royal Caribbean’s Radiance family of ships, which offer more open space, balconies and glass than on any other cruise ships. Other unique design features of Brilliance of the Sea include a rock-climbing wall and dramatic eleven-story glass elevators overlooking the ocean. The ship also boasts a sports court, golf simulator, jogging track and two sparking pools, as well as expansive outdoor decks and four restaurants for a choice of dining experiences. Earlier in 2005, Atlantis became the first company to organize an all-gay cruise with more than 3,000 passengers. The late January sailing on Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas – with a full capacity of 3,200 guests – was the largest all-gay cruise in history. Rates on Atlantis’ Brilliance of the Seas cruise start at US$1,499 per person, based on double occupancy (plus port fees, gratuities and airfare). Reservations are available through Atlantis’ network of more than 7,000 travel agents or by calling 1-800-6-ATLANTIS (UK Residents: telephone 0870 041 1039).
